Hohe Pön circular route
Access route: From the hiking sign in Wi-Usseln, on Sportstraße near the tourist information office (good parking). Start of the actual circular route: from the "Auf`m Knoll" / Hohe Pön crossroads.
Return from Hohe Pön to the village of Usseln as described above. Or you can walk straight on from the "Auf`m Knoll / Emmet" crossroads directly down to the tourist information office in the village.
"Pön" comes from the Celtic language and means "head".
The U2 is a small circular trail that runs once around the Hohe Pön. This route is only 3.6 km long. Access and return are from the Usseln tourist information office on the same route as the U1 or partly on the Uplandsteig.
First we walk between the sports field and the tourist information office and via a zig-zag path on a slope in the direction of Lohwald. Then along the Diemel and on the other side to km 43.0 of the Uplandsteig. At this point we turn down a narrow path to the Diemel spring. After a short rest (?) on the other side, crossing the road, up to the Graf Stolberg Hütte. A rest stop is also possible here. Continue on a short, asphalted hiking trail to a small parking lot, turn right at the edge of the forest to the large crossroads "Auf`m Knoll" (left) / "Emmet" (right opposite). At this point, turn left again until the next crossroads, then turn right towards Hohe Pön.Only 150 m further on and we have to decide, because this is where the actual circular route begins: clockwise to the left or counter-clockwise around the Hohe Pön (793 m). The path is very flat, so it is very easy to walk without a steep incline (38 m).
We recommend sturdy shoes, clothing suitable for the weather, rucksack provisions and sufficient liquids (water, tea).

Bus/train to Usseln station, continue by bus (bus stop Usseln Mitte) or shared cab (bus stop Usseln Mitte or Sportstraße/Viadukt)
By car via the B251 to Willingen (Upland) - Usseln, in the center of the village turn into Sportstraße
