Onward travel by bus is of course possible - you can get information on this by calling 01806 504030 (20 cents/connection from landlines and a maximum of 60 cents/connection from mobile networks).
In combination with the FlixBus and FlixTrain offer, you can also travel from larger cities such as Berlin or Kassel to the Sauerland in a cheap and relaxed way. It is also often possible to take your bicycles with you. Once you arrive in the Sauerland, the FlixBus stops at numerous vacation resorts.
FlixBus runs twice daily on the Berlin - Sauerland route. To Braunschweig and Göttingen there are up to 3 daily services. The journey time from Berlin to Braunschweig is 2 ½ hours, Göttingen can be reached in around 4 hours. To Kassel, the green FlixBus takes 5 ¾ hours, Marsberg and thus the first stop in Sauerland is reached in 6 ¾ hours. The total journey time to the last stop in Neheim is around 8 ¼ hours.
