TOUR-8 Through the Homert

From the parking lot in Hemer, turn left towards Menden into the Hönnetal. After a short stretch through the Hönnetal, turn right towards Arnsberg Neheim-Hüsten. The section via Asbeck has severe road damage at the beginning (short section 30 km/h limit), then it gets better. In Herdringen, the route leads past the venerable Herdringen Castle (you can only see the castle properly if you make a suitable stop). Briefly through Müschede and then over some super bends (beginners beware!) to Arnsberg. A detour to the historic town of Arnsberg with its beautiful Altstadt and castle ruins overlooking the Ruhr and much more is well worthwhile.
Continue along a beautiful stretch of bends (beware of accident-prone roads with a speed limit of 50 km/h) to Hellefeld. In the small village of Grevenstein, the large Sauerland brewery VELTINS is located on the right (visit by prior arrangement). From Grevenstein through the beautiful Sauerland over super routes to Meinkenbracht, Ober- and Niedersalwey to Fretter (shortly after Fretter turn right, tip: Caféstübchen Frettermühle). In Lenhausen, pass the Wasserschloß of the same name and in Rönkhausen continue straight on through the traffic circle towards Plettenberg. (The former route via Lenscheid is closed to motorcyclists on weekends and public holidays from April 1 to October 31, 2020). After Siesel, turn right onto the L619 as far as Allendorf (petrol station) and Amecke on the Sorpesee (in Langscheid motorcycle club "Stavros". Approximately in the middle, turn left towards Balve via a small, cozy side road. There are many places of interest around Balve (Balver Höhle, Luisenhütte, Schloss Wocklum) that can be taken as a detour. From Balve, briefly cross the B 229 and then turn right through Garbeck. After Garbeck, it is worth taking a break at the Schultenhof farm in Leveringhausen (farm café with Deele and outdoor terrace). After refreshments, return to the starting point in Hemer via small, narrow roads. Tour 8 has many beautiful bends. Beginners should approach the route with caution!
