The hiking tour leads over a high plateau to the ruins of Peperburg Castle. In the nature reserve, it then continues through a Buchenwald forest to a limestone quarry overgrown with ivy and grasses.
Depending on the time of year, you may discover rare orchids, lily of the valley or wild garlic.
From the start/finish point "Burgweg parking lot", the route first heads uphill towards the Peperburg castle ruins.Once at the top, we enjoy the views and the peace and quiet in the middle of the old castle ruins. After a short stop to catch our breath, we continue in the direction of Seelenort, the quarry at Peperburg Castle. From the Peperburg, keep to the right and follow the trail markings A, L, R and A19. It's also worth taking a look to the left and right... Trees that have grown like tuning forks accompany the footpath towards the quarry, which is reached after just a few hundred meters, but don't miss the entrance to the quarry! Turn left off the path and after just a few steps you are already in the middle of the quarry. Take your time and soak up all the impressions in the middle of the quarry. Imposing stone walls, hung with numerous ivy vines, create a dreamlike picture. After stopping in the quarry, turn left again onto the hiking trail and follow the trail marker A19 through the beautiful city forest to the next fork in the trail. Keep left there and continue along the A19 to the next fork in the path. At this point, leave the A19 and follow the A18 in the direction of Peperburg; once you reach Peperburg, the trail descends again to the start/finish point "Burgweg parking lot".
