Bronze terrain model on the MöhnetalRadweg Warstein-Sichtigvor
The trail initially leads east along the Möhnetal cycle and hiking trail. After crossing the Römerstraße, the path follows this road to the southeast until it joins the Wallburgweg. After about 50m along the Wallburgweg, the serpentine path turns off to the south. This path leads directly to the chapel on the Loermund.
The forest path to the Loermund is equipped with information boards. The route is shown in drawings. Interesting facts about the visible and invisible are provided. Audio files and short films providing further information can be accessed on a cell phone via QR codes that can be captured on the boards. The information boards are provided with Braille. In this way, the disabled can take part in the Loermund forest trail experience. The texts on the boards are explained in words, and photos and maps are described.
DirectionsThe hiking trail begins with the terrain model and an information board. The model is intended to provide an overview of the historic hillfort and the Stations of the Cross. Visitors with disabilities can feel the contours. A further four boards along the edge of the path point out what is visible. Special viewpoints are located at information boards K3, K4 and K5.There are parking spaces in the immediate vicinity of the starting point at the bronze model, which can be reached via Römerstraße. The restaurant (Alter Bahnhof) is located directly between the parking lot and the Möhnetalradweg. It is open from April to October. The intention is to raise public awareness of the ramparts and their significance for local history. The Way of the Cross with the chapel is a symbol of popular piety. The villagers and visitors should identify more strongly with the historical site. Its significance has so far been little recognized. The special place "Kreuzberg/Kalvarienberg" should also be made tangible for visually impaired people. No previous knowledge is required for the forest trail to Loermund. Anyone can enjoy the experience with the information and the wonderful views of the special landscape.
