You can find accommodation options on the website of the Schmallenberg Sauerland.
The circular trail starts in the village of Berghausen and leads through wooded areas around the Kohlhagen, back to the village of Berghausen.
Our hiking sign is always B2. The hike begins at the large hiking sign at the crossroads below the church. There we take the road to the left, ascending towards Heiminghausen. The road leads us out of the village. On the hilltop, behind the village sign, we take the second option on the left. This path leads us in a right-hand bend to the edge of the forest. There we turn right onto the forest path. After a slight ascent, we stay on the path and walk downhill with it. At a crossroads (station 2 of the Way of the Cross coming from Mailar) we go straight ahead. We now follow the Way of the Cross. At the next junction, we walk straight ahead and continue to follow the Way of the Cross to the Kohlhagen Chapel. Several ways of the cross come together at the chapel. There we turn right downhill towards Berghausen and soon have a view of Hawerland. At the end of the path, we turn left and keep right at the next junction, downhill towards the district road. We stay on the paved path until we reach the district road. There we turn left, pass the Heimkehof inn (refreshments available) and the Schützenhalle and reach our starting point.
The bus line 345 runs in Berghausen. Use the bus stop "Schule" to get to the starting point of the tour
