Information

Directions

The tour starts at Schützenplatz in Schmallenberg. Where Oststraße and Weststraße meet, we turn towards the traffic circle decorated with flowers by the artist Gabriele Schulz. Here we turn left into "Wormbacher Straße" and walk in the direction of "Sportplatz Wormbacher Berg". At the bend, we continue uphill along "Wormbacher Straße". Almost at the top, we turn left onto Hochstraße. This leads straight on out of Schmallenberg in the direction of "Werpe Kreuz". On the left, through the trees, there are always beautiful views of large parts of Schmallenberg. When we arrive at a farm, we turn left towards the country road. Shortly before this, we turn right, cross under a bridge, turn right behind it and follow the S4 towards Werpe. From the "Werpe Kreuz" cross, we follow the WE1 hiking sign until shortly before Schmallenberg. At the cross, we turn right and after a few meters turn left onto the field path. We have a wonderful view of the Hawerland, the village of Werpe, the Rennefeld airfield, the chapel on the Kreuzberg, towards Bad Fredeburg and the "Hunau Turm".At the entrance to the hiking parking lot "Auf dem Brande", above the village of Werpe, we take the WE1 left towards Fleckenberg. Shortly afterwards, we hike slightly uphill on our hiking trail. Behind the Harbecke ski lift, we stay left on the hiking trail. As we leave the forest, we have a beautiful view of the village of Fleckenberg in the Lenne and Latroptal valleys. When we reach a junction with a tarmac path, we turn slightly uphill with the WE 1 to the left towards Schmallenberg. At first we still have beautiful views of Fleckenberg, later Schmallenberg comes into view. At the end of the path, we continue straight ahead on the asphalt path. At a wayside shrine, we leave the WE1 hiking sign and turn right onto the S2 towards Schmallenberg. At the tree telephone, a station on the "Holzerlebnisparcours", we turn right, at the next station "Waldbodenspeicher" we turn right again slightly uphill and continue to follow the hiking sign S2.We turn right at a house and stay on the path, at the end of which we turn right again (downhill). At the next fork (sign for the wood adventure trail), we turn left. We now reach the Schmallenberg Sauerland guest information center and turn right towards the town hall. There we walk uphill along the street "Paul-Falke-Platz" and reach our starting point, the Schützenplatz.
