On the grounds of the Langenhof, south (=above) of the main road, a convent community for women was founded, an "early vicarage of our dear Lady", independent of the local parish priest. Their own house of prayer was probably located on the same site as our current parish church.
In the 14th century, the parish of St. Nicholas became an independent parish and became more and more prominent compared to the parish of Our Lady. Various properties and rights of the monastery were transferred to the new parish until finally, between 1527 and 1545, the monastery ceased to exist completely; the St. Nicholas parish had incorporated the Liebfrauen parish into its parish association.
The monastery church became the parish church, it may have been larger and was probably in better structural condition. In addition to the actual nave, it had a separate chancel for the nuns. In addition to the main altar, dedicated to St. Nicholas, a document mentions a Marian altar and another side altar under the patronage of St. Anthony. According to tradition, the parish church, which was torn down in 1750, was this old monastery church.
In 1751/52, the current parish church was built as an aisleless building. The new high altar was again dedicated to St. Nicholas with the patron saints St. John the Evangelist and St. Francis Xaverinus. The altar of the Mother of God was dedicated to St. Agatha and St. Lucia. In addition to St. Joseph, St. Anthony of Padua and the martyrs Fabian and Sebastian were also venerated at the right side altar.
As the population grew rapidly in the following years, the church had to be enlarged. In 1886, the choir and the eastern half of the nave were demolished and replaced by a cross-shaped extension. From then on, our church had its side aisles. The south-facing vestry was enlarged in 1956/57.
