Whether viewers find a picture beautiful or not does not usually depend on the photographic equipment used. The photographer's view is decisive: What can be seen in the picture? At what moment was the shutter released? What is the light like? From what angle was the photo taken? What else can be seen in the background?
The most important rule is: less is more!
The fewer elements there are in a picture, the easier it is to understand and the greater the chances are that viewers will like it. Therefore, pay attention not only to your subject, but also to the background. Is there anything else that doesn't belong in the picture? If necessary, change the framing and perspective to remove elements from the picture that are not important for the picture's message. Ask yourself: What is the best direction to photograph my subject from so that there is as little distraction as possible in the background? Before pressing the shutter release, take a look at all the corners of the picture: Is there anything distracting in there? Sometimes it is enough to move the image section a little to make something distracting disappear.
Task:
Look for motifs that are typical of Oberkirchen. What does this village stand for? What distinguishes Oberkirchen from other villages?
