The Hönne town forms a varied hiking scenery with the long-distance hiking trail Sauerland-Höhenflug, easy walks to challenging day hikes. The ascent to the Quitmannsturm guarantees great views. You can also enjoy them during a sightseeing flight from the Küntrop airfield. Mountain biking, road biking or pleasure biking are possible on the Hönnetal bike path and those who like it leisurely can stroll through the alleys of the historic Altstadt and lick a delicious scoop of ice cream or enjoy the sun's rays in the outdoor pool.

Well known far beyond the city limits is the traditional horse and carts market in March of each year - affectionately called "Gertrüdchen" - today the first large folk festival in the region with a fair.

Locals know it, visitors are surprised by the vineyard in the middle of the Sauerland, as well as by the Motte, an original wooden tower hill castle. Particularly worth seeing are the late Gothic Antwerp folding altar in the St. Lambertus Church in the Affeln district and the Rennofen near Gut Berentrop, the best preserved of its kind in the Märkischer Kreis. Varied cultural events complete the leisure opportunities.

Visitors can easily find a suitable temporary home among the wide range of hotels, inns, guesthouses, vacation apartments and houses. Restaurants, cafés and bistros serve many a culinary treat.
