Information

Directions

First cross the Lennebrücke bridge and turn right in the Lennepark until you reach the street "Wasserpforte". Turn left there and then right at the next opportunity until you reach the street "Vor der Lake". Follow this road until you reach the street "Auf der Lake" (Bauzentrum Köster) and turn left there.At the B236 "Bahnhofstraße" turn left, go through the traffic circle and stay on "Bahnhofstraße" until the next traffic circle. There you walk along Oststraße (left-hand road) through the slate town of Schmallenberg. Continue to the junction "Auf der Mauer" / "Wimereuxstraße" (Schmallenberg's twin town in France).There you turn left into the street "Auf der Mauer" until you reach the crossing "Wasserpforte" / "Unter der Stadtmauer there left and immediately right". Take the street "Unter der Stadtmauer" and walk back to the Lennepark. Turn left in front of the "Lenne Atelier" and then right at the next opportunity. This path will take you back to the Lennebrücke, your starting point.

Safety guidelines

A rescue point system has been installed in the Hochsauerland district. Rescue points can be found on the information boards at the junctions and on the hiking signs.



If you would like to do the tour with a wheelchair, walking frame or baby carriage, please check whether the height profile is suitable for you.

Public transit

There are various bus lines in Schmallenberg, including the S90, SB9 and S40 lines, as well as the Ismo 466 line (former hiking bus, must be booked at least 30 minutes before departure).

From the south (e.g. Frankfurt)
Take the A45 to the Olpe exit, then continue on the B55 towards Schmallenberg.


From the west (e.g. Cologne, Bonn)
Take the A4 to the Olpe-Süd junction, then take the A45 and continue on the B55 towards Schmallenberg.


From the north (e.g. Dortmund)
Take the A44 to the Werld junction, then take the A445 / A46 to Enste, in the direction of Meschede, Westernbödefeld, Bad Fredeburg to Schmallenberg


From the east (e.g. Kassel)
Via the A44 to Marsberg, via the B7 to Brilon, B 480 to Antfeld, L776 to Bad Fredeburg, via the B511 to Schmallenberg
