Water is fascinating - and we encounter it again and again on this circular tour through several river valleys. The "Nameless" stream murmurs as it accompanies the cyclists. Mining history is alive and well in Silbach: Mining sites and the old "Twelve Apostles" gallery "tell" of slate and ore mining. In the nail forge, visitors can watch how sharp pins are made from hot metal. If you need to cool off, refresh yourself in the treading pool at the edge of the forest.
We cycle uphill through the magnificent landscape around the enchanting "artists' village" of Siedlinghausen to the wayside shrine at St. Blasius. From there, we have a fantastic view of the surrounding mountains and villages. A little later, we come across the young Ruhr. The last section of the route runs along the RuhrtalRadweg dedicated to it.
From the cycle point at the station in Winterberg we cycle towards the town center - on the Kurweg towards the ski area - through the ski area towards the golf course - towards Silbach - continue towards Siedlinghausen - past the mountain lake - towards the center of Siedlinghausen - towards the mountain lake on the Iberg - Sankt Blasius - Eschenberg ski area - RuhrtalRadweg - Winterberg.
A detour to the mountain lake on the Iberg between Siedlinghausen and Silbach is a must.
From the Eschenberg lift, it is worth making a detour to Niedersfeld to the Hillebach reservoir with its swimming bay and wakeboard facility.
