The route takes you south of the Hanseatic town of Medebach through the typical cultural landscape of Medebach Bay with meadows and fields. The hiking trail partly follows the Medebach Bay circular trail. Along the way, there are beautiful views of the town with its large parish church.
The trail, which is mostly on asphalt paths, is well suited for tours with bicycles and baby carriages and is also ideal as a winter hiking trail, as the paths are mostly cleared of snow.
The hiking trail is signposted with the black and white trail marker M5 .We turn left in front of the parish church of St. Peter and Paul. At St. Andrew's Chapel, the oldest building in the town center dating back to the 13th century, we turn right and carefully cross Niederstraße at the bottom. After 200 m, we turn half-left into Hansestraße. After the radio mast, turn right. In Piezfeld, we come across the Medebacher Bucht circular trail marked (MB). At the end of the path, we turn right, 200 m, then left again along a forest/meadow path, which turns right at the edge of the forest. On the left we see the Orketal bungalow settlement. The path bends to the right, after 300 m we turn left again onto an asphalt path andturn left onto the Medebach-Medelon country road, but after 150 m we turn right again. We turn right before the electricity pylon and after a short time we can already see the 63 m high tower of the church.
The forest owners are endeavoring to take the necessary measures in the forests and to remove the damaged wood. However, due to the extent of the damage, this work cannot be completed in a short space of time. The clearing and reforestation of the damaged forest stands will therefore take a long time and sometimes lead to disruptions such as closures and detour in the forests. This must always be taken into account when visiting the forest.
We therefore appeal to everyone who cares about the forest:
Please be considerate ...
