Every village has exciting stories, legends, myths and anecdotes from the past. To ensure that these are not lost, there are 20 eavesdroppers in the Bauernland who make these stories audible. If you want to listen to the history of the place, a little "manual work" is required.
Here's how:
Turn the crank on the side of the audio station until the green LED on the front lights up continuously. Press the start button on the story. When the LED starts to flash orange, keep turning the crank. Listen and enjoy, let your eyes wander and let the past come alive.
The hike starts at the St. Cyriakus parish church in Berghausen. We cross the road at the large signpost and follow it in the direction of Schmallenberg. At the top, behind the farm with house number 22, we turn right and walk down into the valley. After the Meilerplatz, we turn left and cross the Wenne. Now we turn left twice with the B1 hiking sign. When we reach the K 25, we turn left for approx. 50 m, carefully cross the road and reach Lauschpohl no. 18 "Papen Brügge - Pfarrer und Teufel" at the bridge. We follow the hiking trail slightly uphill towards Ebbeloh, walk straight ahead over the crossroads and continue uphill. At the top, we turn left. After a few meters, we have a view of the Kreuzkapelle chapel and the St. Peter and Paul parish church in Wormbach. At the refuge we find the Lauschpohl with the number 19.We walk back to the grove and turn left to Ebbeloh. At the next path, we turn left again and walk past a little house. On the Ebbeloh, we turn left at the Wenden and right at the elevated tank in the direction of Heiminghausen. At the end of the "Feldflur" path, we turn left, carefully cross the road and follow the cycle path uphill on the left, past a cross. At the second fork in the road, we turn right and walk towards a house. At the crossroads, we turn right and then left behind the Christmas trees. The path leads us to the Kohlagenkapelle chapel, where we find the Lauschpohl with the number 2, which tells us about the reforestation around Berghausen. At the Kohlhagen Chapel, we take a sharp left onto the path with the B2 hiking sign. This path is also the Berghausen Way of the Cross to Kohlhagen. At the asphalt path, we turn left and walk towards Berghausen until we reach the road. There we turn left and the path leads us back to our starting point.
