The loop trail runs close to the water the entire way and offers numerous beautiful views across the reservoir. It’s the perfect destination for a short stroll through beautiful nature. Two forest benches along the trail invite you to take a relaxing break or soak up some sun.

Directions
From the Herlinghausen-Vollme hiking parking lot, we cross the B54 and follow the road uphill toward the Jubachtalsperre. The paved path gives way to a more natural surface, and once we reach the top, we finally arrive at the Jubachtalsperre. You’re now free to choose which direction to take on the loop trail. Just stay on the path close to the water until, after about 45 minutes,you reach the dam wall again and can begin your return trip to the parking lot.
Equipment
Because the trails are natural (partly gravel, partly forest paths), sturdy (hiking) shoes are recommended.
Safety guidelines
After rainy days, the ground on the nature trails may be soft in places.
First Aid: In an emergency, dial the emergency number 112. Provide the rescue point number. Rescue points are marked locations in the forest that serve as meeting points for emergency vehicles. If you do not know the location of the nearest rescue point, your location can be determined directly via AML (Advanced Mobile Location) during the emergency call.

Public transit
With the RB 25, coming from Cologne or Lüdenscheid, get off at the Meinerzhagen train station. Transfer to Bus Line 58toward Lüdenscheid and get off at the Vollme-Jubach bus stop.
Take the RB 52, coming from Hagen or Lüdenscheid, get off at the Lüdenscheid-Brügge (Westfalen) train station. Transfer to Bus Line 58 toward Kierspe, and get off at the Vollme-Jubach bus stop.

How to get there
Coming from the south via the A45, take the Meinerzhagen exit, then drive through the center of Meinerzhagen toward Kierspe. After passing the “Out of Town” sign for Kierspe, continue on the B54 until you reach the Vollme district. Here, turn left at the intersection. After crossing the bridge, you’ll find the hiking parking lot on your right.
Coming from the north via the A45, take the Lüdenscheid-Süd exit and continue toward Lüdenscheid city center. Continue toward Lüdenscheid-Brügge, then turn left (at the Aral Tankstelle) toward Kierspe. Continue on the B54, passing through the Halver district of Oberbrügge, before reaching the Kierspe district of Vollme. Here, turn right at the intersection. After crossing the bridge, the hiking parking lot is on your right.
