The flat hiking trail leads you from the tourist information office through the streets of the old Hanseatic town of Medebach. Passing the Jewish cemetery, you then reach the Hesseberg with its old beech and oak trees. Enjoy the wonderful forest landscape as you circle the mountain.
The tour, half of which is on asphalt paths and half on forest and field paths, is also suitable for bicycles and baby carriages.
The circular hiking trail is marked throughout with the white/black M2.Directions from the market square:We walk 500 m along Oberstraße, turn left into Glindfelder Weg, the Jewish cemetery is barely recognizable on the left. On the asphalted path, we turn half right, come to the district road K 56, after just under 500 m we turn left and walk slightly uphill on the field/forest path into the Hesseberg, which is covered with old beeches and oaks.the circular path is shady and fairly flat, at the crossroads we walk downhill for a short distance, follow the M2 sign and then turn right along the edge of the forest. The Rennefeld farm and bus stop are on the left andwe reach the Krämershagen ski hut slightly downhill. On the district road, we turn left briefly, then right again. We follow the cycle path on the other side of the road, after 1 km we reach the Hochsauerland Park, after another 1400 m we are back at the Medebach market square(the tour is also suitable for bicycles and baby carriages).Directions from Center Parcs (approx. 6 km route length):Center Parcs guests can join the circular walk directly from the ski hut on the Hesseberg. You leave the Center Parcs at the main entrance and follow the cycle path towards Küstelberg until you reach the turn-off to Glindfeld. Cross the road there and start the Hesseberg circuit directly from the Am Krämershagen ski hut. Follow the white/black M2 signs around the Hesseberg.
The forest owners are endeavoring to take the necessary measures in the forests and to remove the damaged wood. However, due to the extent of the damage, this work cannot be completed in a short space of time. The clearing and reforestation of the damaged forest stands will therefore take a long time and sometimes lead to disruptions such as closures and detour in the forests. This must always be taken into account when visiting the forest.
We therefore appeal to everyone who cares about the forest:
Please be considerate ...
