Golf course hike

The starting point for this varied circular walk is the bus stop on the B236 in Winkshausen. We walk a few steps along the B236 towards Schmallenberg, past the Hotel Deimann, cross the road that leads into the Sorpetal valley and then turn right towards the golf course (watch out for flying golf balls).After a few meters we have to turn right into the settlement. We walk uphill and about 150 meters after the last house on the left, we take the dirt road with the hiking sign N3.When we meet a tarred crossroads, we turn right (without a hiking sign) past the golf course, uphill to a fork in the path. We stay in this direction, the marking is now W2. It leads us through the area of the golf course.In a small valley, we walk a short distance on the W2 to the left, shortly afterwards to the right again and gradually uphill and continue to cross the area of the golf course. At the top, we turn left on the W2 towards Holthausen. The path takes us to the cemetery with a view of Holthausen. From here, the W2 leads us left to the center of Holthausen village.At the bus stop or Gasthof Vollme-König, we must turn right and follow the W2 markings uphill through the village. At Möbiusplatz, we climb a little further straight ahead and keep to the right before the house with the number 32 (in front of the children's playground) (no hiking sign).The very scenic path leads constantly along the edge of the forest. The view extends from the Wilzenberg over the mountains of the Rothaargebirge to the Beerenberg behind Schmallenberg.When we reach a corner of the forest at the end of the path, we turn right and then left, following W2, downhill to the signpost at the sports field. There we go straight ahead. We mostly walk along the edge of the forest, continuing to enjoy the good views the W2 takes us back to Winkhausen. Cross the road. After a few meters, the view of Niedersorpe opens up on the left. Continue straight ahead. A few meters after the end of the edge of the forest, we turn left on the W2. At the pine hut, we enjoy the view once again and walk downhill to the left along the last section of the route on the familiar path back to Winkhausen.
