This stage of the X5 starts in the historic town center of Altena. Shortly after the start, you will see the famous Burg Altena overlooking the Lenne valley. The route takes you steadily uphill through shady deciduous forests, along quiet forest paths and past vantage points with views of the valley. After the ascent to the Wixberg (without a classic view), you reach the Danzturm - an ideal place for a rest with a wide view over the Iserlohn city area.The stage ends at Iserlohn train station and is ideal for an environmentally friendly journey thanks to the start and finish stations.
