WVG supplies around 11,000 households in Warstein and the surrounding area with electricity and around 5,500 households with natural gas. The company was founded in 1999 and is 20% owned by the town and 80% by Stadtwerke Arnsberg Vertriebs- und Energiedienstleistungs GmbH. There are 15 employees working for WVG in Warstein, some of them on a family-friendly part-time basis. The electricity and gas grid was transferred to WVG-Netz-GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of WVG, on January 1, 2015. The grid activities were separated from WVG's sales activities under company law on January 1, 2023. The managing directors of WVG Netz GmbH are Fabian Wälter and Josefine Wunderlich. The Managing Director of WVG mbH is Christian Voß.
