Udener Straße Canoe Launch Site in Lippstadt: A Paradise for Nature Lovers
Unique Nature Experiences: Canoe tour through nature reserves in Lippstadt
A one-of-a-kind nature experience: The canoe tour starting at Udener Straße offers a unique opportunity to experience the flora and fauna of the Lippe River and its floodplains up close. Thanks to its location within a nature reserve and the FFH and bird sanctuaries, nature lovers gliding leisurely along the Lippe gain a unique perspective on the region’s diverse flora and fauna.
Sustainable Tourism: Protective Regulations for an Eco-Friendly Canoe Tour
Protected Natural Areas: The canoe tour passes through ecologically sensitive areas. To protect the flora and fauna, special regulations apply, such as designated paddling times, limits on the number of boats, and a ban on stepping onto the banks. All canoeists are asked to minimize their impact on the environment during the tour. This includes properly disposing of trash, avoiding disturbance to wildlife, and staying on designated paths.
Seasonal Highlights: Limited-time tours through unspoiled nature
Route Features: The canoe tour is somewhat restricted due to the protected areas. For example, the “Hellinghausen Mersch” section may only be navigated from March through November. Additionally, stepping onto the banks after launching is prohibited, and during high water, you must paddle in the original riverbed. If surrounding bodies of standing water are frozen, paddling is also prohibited. This underscores the route’s unique character and the need to protect nature. Discover the beauty of nature in a responsible way.
