The Schlade hiking parking lot is located on State Road L842 between Neuenrade-Affeln and Allendorf.
From here, it’s just a few steps to the Sauerland-Höhenflug long-distance hiking trail (a “Wanderbares Deutschland” certified trail). The Affelner Rundweg AR1, which is just under 22 km long, passes right by the parking lot.
Short loop trails (A-trails) ranging from 3 km to 4.5 km start here.
A hiking information board from the Sauerland-Rothaargebirge Nature Park (formerly Homert) is posted there to help you find your way.

The facility belongs to the Sauerland Rothaargebirge Nature Park Association (Naturpark Sauerland Rothaargebirge e.V.) and is maintained and cared for by the association.
