The entrance to the Reckenhöhle cave is located in the Balve district of Binolen, surrounded by the rocks of the beautiful Hönnetal. Several hundred meters of guided tour lead the visitor through an underground realm, which extends from the large main hall to the "Paradise" and the chapel. The limestone that forms these small treasures consists largely of the remains of corals, arthropods and snails. Fortunately, the natural works of art are accessible to everyone, as the Reckenhöhle has been developed in such a way that it is completely barrier-free. This means that people with wheelchairs can also visit the cave in its entirety. This is worthwhile not only because of the stalactites, sinter terraces and water basins, but also because of the unique effect of the air inside the cave. The offer is known as "healing cave therapy", where visitors can enjoy the cool, clean cave air for around 20 minutes while wearing blankets. A relaxing cure not only for people with respiratory problems, but for anyone who wants to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and finally take a deep breath.
