The so-called “Gates to the Sauerland-Waldroute”—of which there is at least one in each of the 15 participating municipalities—provide the perfect starting point.

On a paved area framed by a hornbeam hedge, each “Gateway to the Sauerland-Waldroute” features a modern seating area with an information board. Before, during, or after your hike, you can take a break here and learn about the sights along the respective stage.
