The Niederbergheim local history association has erected an old horizon gate on the Belecke - Möhnesee cycle path as a technical cultural monument.

It is a reminder that for centuries, many people in the village lived from forestry work and wood processing.

The gate comes from a Niederbergheim sawmill that was closed down in 1978.
