The bakehouse is the only one of the former four quarter bakehouses to have survived. The building has been a listed building since 1984 and is still used as a bakehouse. Once a week, the popular Bachkaus bread is still baked in the old brick oven according to an old recipe.
Our tip: The bread is considered a Hallenberg specialty and is very popular with locals and guests. To ensure that you are guaranteed to get your hands on a loaf of stone-baked bread, you should order it in advance.
The bakery is open on Saturdays from 5.30 am to 11.00 am. You can collect the bread from the bakery from around 9.00 am.
