Kneipp Adventure Park

Following the Kneipp Active Trail and running alongside the Ruhr and Gierskopp rivers, the wellness route leads to the Kneipp herb garden. Here and in the neighboring orchard meadow , touching, smelling, and tasting are expressly encouraged. The route continues to the historic Dr. Grüne Kneipp Park, featuring a Kneipp facility integrated into a pond, a barefoot trail, and relaxation areas. For a moment to linger and relax, the city center is the perfect spot—at the tip of the landscape between the Ruhr and the Gierskoppbach, known as the OlsbergEck —or just outside the city center along the renaturalized Ruhr floodplains and at the Lebensgarten of the Josefsheim Bigge. At the natural water-treading spot in the Gierskoppbach called “Sprung über das Wasser” or at the arm pools in front of the Tourist Information Office , the focus is on the power of water. In the Generations Park and along the fitness trail , young and old alike enjoy being active outdoors.
