The hilly landscape of the Sauerland is not only particularly beautiful to look at from above, it also allows hang-gliders and paragliders to take off on foot from the mountain.

There are take-off hills in two directions on the Wixberg and from Hegenscheid airfield, pilots can be pulled into the air by the winch.

The Aero-Club Altena-Hegenscheid e.V. is happy to provide information about local conditions and offers tandem flights and flight training for beginners.
