The Gut Listringhausen, situated in a quiet and idyllic setting, lies between Dannenberg and Genkel. This historic manor house, located south of Meinerzhagen, is surrounded by forest and is considered one of the region’s most culturally and historically significant sites.

Gut Listringhausen is one of two knightly estates within the city limits of Meinerzhagen. The first documented references to it date back to 1621. In this context, the then-owner was granted recognition as a knight’s estate by the Elector of Brandenburg, who at that time also owned the nearby Badinghagen Castle.
The knight’s estate is now privately owned and can therefore only be viewed from the outside. A comprehensive restoration of the entire structure took place in 1903, as a result of which only a few elements of the original historic structure remain. Nevertheless, the complex—comprising the main building and outbuildings—conveys an impression of the estate’s former significance.
Not far from Gut Listringhausen lies the scenic Genkeltalsperre, which is ideal for walks and hikes. The Bergischer Panoramasteig and the Sauerland-Höhenflug circular trail also run along the reservoir, allowing for an ideal combination of nature and culture.
