The Waldbühne is surrounded by trees in Lüdenscheid's city park. The stage is around 50 meters wide and the visitor tiers extend up the slope in terraces.
The Waldbühne was inaugurated on July 12, 1936 with William Shakespeare's "The Taming of the Shrew".
However, after the end of the war, it increasingly fell into oblivion. In 2004, the summer theater was resumed.
