The fish-bellied arch bridge was entered in the list of monuments of the town of Plettenberg on June 15, 2000 together with the Kersmecke viaduct, which still existed at the time.
The steel truss railroad bridge over the Lenne was built in 1914 and is no longer in use today. The structure manages a 180-degree change in direction when crossing the Lenne.
This results in the arched ground plan with a radius of 300 meters. As part of the "REGIONALE 2013", the Lenneschiene project was awarded over 4 million euros in funding.
The upgrading of the fish-bellied arched girder bridge received a grant of 574,928 euros. The accessible viewing platform on one segment of the bridge was opened in late summer 2015.
