The church of St. Johannes Baptist is a fascinating excursion destination in Züschen and invites you on a journey through time. Since the missionary work in the 9th century, the picturesque village near Winterberg was one of the earliest parishes in the region.
Today's church is enthroned on a hill in the center of the village. It was built in 1857 as an imposing, neo-Gothic hall church with a slender west tower. It rests on the historic walls of an old baptistery and fortified church dating back to around 1100, which was first mentioned in a document in 1310. Discover the peaceful atmosphere of this impressive place and let the architecture work its magic on you.
You can find out the current opening times directly from the parish office (Mondays 9:30-10:30, tel. 02981 5080344). Combine your visit with a relaxing hike!
