The permanent exhibition traces the history of the former Cistercian monastery in Bredelar and the Theodorshütte ironworks, which was established there following secularization, as well as their use up to the present day. It also presents the history of the post office, schools, churches, and the fire department, as well as that of the Upper Ruhrtal and Rhine Valley railroads.
