Bredelar Forest Nature Reserve
Nature Reserve/Natural Landmark
North of Bredelar lies the Bredelar Forest Nature Reserve, a forested area spanning more than 450 hectares. The landscape is characterized by red beech and oak-beech forests, complemented by alder forests and coniferous stands.

Properties:
The forest is part of a large, contiguous forest habitat and is included in the Bredelar, Marsberg City Forest, and Fürstenberg Forest FFH area. As such, the area is part of the European Natura 2000 network of protected areas. Since 2023, the forest has also been part of the Diemel and Hoppecketal Bird Sanctuary, along with adjacent forests.
Together with the adjacent Forst Bredelar / Obermarsberg Wald nature reserve to the east, the forest forms an extensive forest complex that provides refuge for numerous animals and plants.
