The imposing abbey church in Meschede was consecrated in 1964 according to plans by the Cologne architect Hans Schilling. The church’s striking exterior is matched by an interior that has been consistently shaped theologically and liturgically in accordance with the Second Vatican Council. The “Haus der Stille” (House of Silence), inaugurated in 2001, is also architecturally impressive
