You start at the foot of Burg Altena - and you can feel it straight away: Something special starts here. Behind you, the castle rises out of the rock, in front of you lies a path full of forest air and far-reaching views. After just a few minutes, you leave the Lenne valley behind you, climbing steadily uphill - and the hustle and bustle stays below.
The path leads you through dense deciduous forests. Sometimes shady, sometimes flooded with light. The air is fresh, the ground is soft, everyday life is far away. It gets very quiet at Wixberg - no great views, but lots of emotion. Pure nature. A quiet moment for you and the forest.
Then the horizon opens up: the path leads across wide meadows into the Grünertal valley and then up again, because the Danzturm is waiting. Once at the top, you are rewarded with a real panorama - Iserlohn lies at your feet, the Sauerland spreads out before you. A spot to take a deep breath, pause and marvel.
From here, the descent is relaxed. Wide paths, quiet steps, final views. You hike into the city - past old trees, with a fresh head and a full heart.
No race, no summit assault. "Waldluft & Lenneblick" is a micro-adventure - 15 km of Sauerland feeling with history, far-reaching views and forest tranquillity. Perfect for anyone who just wants to get going.
