Ruhrauen - The light of the candle.
This path is particularly suitable for a walk at dusk.
Leave St. Nikolaus at the disabled-accessible side entrance, turn left and cross Bahnhofstrasse at the traffic circle (Isken bakery).
You now walk approx. 50 m on this side of Bahnhofstrasse and turn right at the Gierskoppbach stream and walk along the Kneipp AktivWeg Olsberg (blue watering can markings), first along the Gierskopp and later along the Ruhr on the right-hand side, past the Generationenpark and Aqua Olsberg. You cross Stadionstraße and continue along Unter'm Hagen along the Ruhr, initially in a built-up area, later directly along the water, through the Ruhrtal nature reserve. Here, the Marienbildstock (wayside shrine) from 1869 invites you to rest and reflect.
Shortly afterwards, turn left over the Ruhr bridge and walk back on the other side through the extensive Ruhr meadows. Along the marked path (blue watering can), you cross the main road into Heinrich-Sommer-Straße to the Lebensgarten Josefsheim. Here you will find a place of encounter, but also of silence and contemplation.
