Kirchwelver hiking parking lot, Klosterhof, 59514 Welver
The "Hiking Trail A4" is an almost 14 km long, varied circular hiking trail that leads from the parking lot in Kirchwelver through the historic town center. It passes the former manor house "Haus Matena", whose buildings were unfortunately demolished in the 1960s and only the moat remains as a witness to the past. A narrow path leads through the "Ahsewiesen" nature reserve to Dinker. A historic parish church with a beautiful church square and nearby refreshment stops fulfill cultural and culinary needs. If you want to shorten the route here, take the A3 hiking trail, which ran parallel up to this point and now curves back through the Ahsewiesen meadows to Kirchwelver. Ambitious hikers follow the A4 signs northwards. The next section is characterized by agriculture until you reach the Eilmser Wald, the northernmost point of the hike. If you would like to take a break here, the "Landgasthof Schlotmann" with its adjoining game reserve will certainly be the right place for body and soul. Walking south, you soon have a beautiful view from the Dinkerberg to the heights of the Haarstranges. The next knight's seat along the way awaits the hiker with the Sängerhof to the east of Dinker, before crossing the nationally significant wetland area of the Ahse again. A forest passage through the Klosterholz follows before the churches at the edge of the forest indicate that the hiking circuit will soon come to an end in Kirchwelver.
