Leave St. Nikolaus at the disabled-accessible side entrance and turn right onto Kirchstraße, then half-right onto Borbergstraße and then follow the Rothaarsteig feeder route (yellow sign with a horizontal R) to the Borberg Marienkapelle destination. The path in the Borberg is also known as the Glockenpfad and was a medieval escape route up the Borberg. The Way of the Cross, built in 1963, leads along this path.
The way back on the Borberg leads past the Borbergkirchhof excavation site and the Walltor gate onto the Rothaarsteig trail towards Hiebammenhütte/Brilon. At a parking area with a bench for resting, turn left, at the next fork turn half right onto the Olsberger Kneippweg K, past the Papendiek treading area to the "Rote Brücke" and then over the "Kienegge" (Kurterrainweg 4) back to St. Nikolaus.
