1st stage Kneipp HikingTrail Olsberg- Spring Tour

We start at the Dr. Grüne Kneipp Park and walk along the well-marked access path K (approx. 800 m) to the KneippWanderWeg, which we reach above the Gierskopp housing estate. Here we continue in the direction of Elleringhausen - along the road - above the houses until the path turns right over a field path.We turn left and walk downhill to the "Tretstelle an der Gierskopp" (also known as "An der Scharfsbrücke"). We take a short break here to cool our hot soles. The Olsberg Kneipp Trail then leads us back again for about 100 m and to the right along the paved path until, after about 400 m, a trail leads us straight and steeply downhill along the edge of the field to the course of the river. Follow this for a short distance to the Giersker Treff. Benches invite you to rest here. From here, cross the road and continue through the housing estate to the "Rote Brücke", where you have the option of taking a detour to the "Zum Schinkenwirt" excursion inn or walking directly back to Olsberg (approx. 2 km). From here, the route continues uphill for a short distance, to the left along a beautiful meadow path, and after approx. 1 km the route climbs steeply up to the barefoot path. Here we recommend walking a section of the path barefoot. Signposts can be seen on the remaining tree trunks. This is followed by the natural "Tretstelle am Papendiek" with a rest and refreshment stop. The route continues along the well-marked hiking trail along the Forstenberg and around the Eisenberg, where an information board at the Maxstollen provides knowledge about mining in Olsberg. Some benches invite you to take a rest right at the mouth of the tunnel. Fresh spring water from the inflow of the spring basin quenches our thirst and also tastes excellent.You can stop off at the "Zum Schinkenwirt" inn here or complete the tour and hike back to Olsberg (approx. 2 km). The route continuesalong the KneippWanderWeg to Langer Berg (bus S40 to Olsberg from the hiking parking lot). After crossing the country road, we hike from the hiking portal of the Sauerland-Waldroute along Langer Berg towards Bigge. The adventure stations of the "Große Freiheit Siebenstern" adventure trail have a few surprises in store, and we also enjoy the particularly beautiful views of Bigge. We reach the Ruhrauen via various paths. There we have to cross the new bridge. Via the KneippAktivWeg, along the young Ruhr (against the course of the river), we then return to the town center and the Kneipp Adventure Park. Here, the "blue watering can" is a clearly visible guide back to the tourist office.
