Our goal is a mixed forest!
Excessive game populations are consuming the mix of tree species across most of Germany’s forested areas or damaging the vitality of the trees by stripping their bark. Foresters and hunters must work together to maintain a balance between the forest and wildlife and cull enough deer and roe deer so that a healthy, species-rich mixed forest can develop.

Getting There The station is not accessible by car. Use the hiking parking lot (turnaround area) or the parking lot at the village hall, and hike to the station via the Forest Workers’ and Foresters’ Trail. Parking Use the hiking parking lot (turnaround area) or the parking lot at the village hall. Public Transportation Bus line 466 runs through Latrop, as does the Schmallenberg Sauerland hiking bus (check the schedule).
