Game reserve Battenberg (Eder)-Dodenau

A visit to the 10-hectare game reserve is worthwhile for anyone who wants to experience the local wildlife. Observe fallow deer, red deer and mouflon at close range.
A trip to the game reserve is particularly worthwhile for families with children. The animals are not afraid and are happy to be fed. Food bags can be purchased in the entrance area. There is a children's playground in the immediate vicinity and a barbecue hut invites you to relax and linger.
A forest nature trail starts directly at the barbecue hut. It complements the Dodenau game reserve, leads through the Jeckenfuß, partly along the fence and provides an insight into the flora and fauna of the local region. 13 different information boards invite you to hike along a circular trail. Go on a discovery tour with Dodi and Jäcki, the two mascots of the game reserve.
Also in the immediate vicinity of the barbecue hut is a charcoal-burner's educational trail, which explains lots of interesting facts about the charcoal-burner's trade at 5 stations. There is also a small charcoal kiln.
Guided tours can also be offered on request.
