Willingen(Upland )'s local mountain, the Ettelsberg, is located in the middle of beautiful Upland and can be easily reached using the Ettelsberg cable car or the K1 chairlift. At 838 m above sea level, there is plenty to discover and experience.
An extensive hiking paradise through the Hochheide starts here. From the Hochheideturm tower, you have a fabulous view over the Hochsauerland and Waldeck region. In winter, the Ettelsberg is transformed into a winter wonderland and welcomes skiers on the slopes and cross-country skiers, winter hikers and snowshoe hikers. The MTB zone routes also start on the Ettelsberg.
The Ettelsbergsee lake, which serves as a reservoir for snowmaking, is a great place for a short walk, including Rike's Caterpillar Trail, one of the adventure trails on the Ettelsberg. It's just a short 1.5 km walk to the Skywalk and the Mühlenkopfschanze. The Abenteuerspielplatz makes children's hearts beat faster and run wild.
