The Esmecke-Stausee hiking parking lot not only offers a place to park for a quick dip in the lake, but also serves as a starting point for beautiful hikes.
Properties:
One of the loop trails on the Sauerland-Höhenflug route is also the Golddorfroute through Wenholthausen. The 11.3-kilometer loop trail combines nature, adventure, and attractive places to rest.
Highlights of the tour include the Wennepfad trail, the Eibel with its playground, wildlife enclosure, and Pit-Pat course, as well as the Erdenklangstraße. At the end of the route, the Esmecke-Stausee awaits.
The restaurants in Wenholthausen are great places to stop for a bite to eat. There’s also a kiosk at the Esmecke-Stausee where you can grab a snack.
