The Börde Therme, affectionately known as the “Ruhrgebiet’s Bathtub,” is an oasis of well-being for lovers of thermal baths and saunas

.

After nearly two years of construction, the spa has been shining in new splendor since 2020: The indoor and outdoor pools have been renovated, modernized, and equipped with new attractions. In the sauna area, a new log cabin sauna, a saltwater floating pool, a new relaxation house, as well as a sauna and a relaxation room in the new Gradierwerk have been added.

Drifting along in water at a temperature of 33°C is not only relaxing but also benefits the skin and overall well-being. Five indoor and outdoor pools with a total water surface area of 1,000 m² offer the perfect opportunity to do so. A relaxation room and the new summer lounge invite you to unwind and relax in between.

The diverse sauna area at the Börde Therme also promises rejuvenation. Whether it’s the Irish-Roman steam bath, Finnish sauna, caldarium, or sanarium—regular sauna use is a true fountain of health. The new, spacious relaxation building and the 600 m² sauna garden also offer plenty of space for rest and relaxation. Also new are the log cabin sauna and panoramic sauna in the outdoor area, as well as the sauna in the Gradierwerk, which features its own relaxation lounge, a relaxation room inside, and a terrace on top of the Gradierwerk.

Next door, the saltwater floating pool is a new attraction, fed by brine from the Gradierwerk. With a salinity of 15%, floating here is similar to floating in the Dead Sea

. A visit to the sea salt grotto promises relaxation akin to a day at the beach. Rock salt and sea salt complement each other here to form a particularly effective combination, rich in minerals and trace elements. This natural remedy is particularly recommended for people with respiratory and skin conditions, as well as associated autonomic symptoms, such as restlessness, sleep disturbances, and nonspecific circulatory disorders. The soft lighting also provides a pleasant respite from everyday stress.

The AURA Beauty and Wellness Center rounds out the pampering program at the Börde Therme with soothing themed massages, baths, and cosmetic and body treatments. In the MedyWell therapy department, the focus is on physical health with classic massages, lymphatic drainage, mud wraps, and mud kneading.

Café Sole and the Sauna Bistro invite guests to take a rejuvenating break with healthy, light snacks and refreshing drinks.

Special experiences: Every first Friday of the month from 9:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., the Börde Therme transforms into a particularly atmospheric oasis of well-being during the evening hours. Enveloped in a play of lights and soothing sounds, guests enjoy swimming in the 33°C brine. From October through April, the Börde Therme also hosts its “Sauna Nights” (6:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.) every third Saturday of the month, featuring an atmospheric setting, relaxing music, and a special pampering program.

For those who prefer a more active experience, the Börde Therme offers various underwater gymnastics, aqua fitness, and aquacycling classes. For more information on prices and hours of operation, visit www.boerde-therme.de
