The Biggequelle is located in the Römershagen district of Wenden. A stream strewn with large rocks carries the still-scant spring water and, after 16 km, fills one of Germany’s largest reservoirs, the Biggesee. It serves primarily to store raw water for the Ruhrgebiet to ensure a consistent flow of water in the Ruhr River.

Where can I find the Biggequelle? From Wenden, take the K1 road southwest toward Römershagen. Crottorfer Straße runs through the village.
