During the tour, you’ll learn all about the geology, the copper deposit and its formation, mining techniques, ore smelting, and the miners’ hard work and living conditions.

A tour lasts about 2 hours and includes a ride on the mine train (Unfortunately, due to technical reasons, mine train rides are currently not available). Depending on the number of participants and specific interests, the tour may be shorter or longer.

It is recommended to wear warm clothing and sturdy shoes during the tour (the temperature in the tunnel is approximately 10 °C).

Guided tours generally take place every Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 p.m. from April through October. Additionally, during North Rhine-Westphalia school breaks, tours are offered every Wednesday at 2:00 p.m.

Group tours (such as school trips, children’s birthday parties, club outings, and company outings) can be booked daily throughout the year by appointment.
