A special feature on the approximately 400 m long visitor path of the Bilstein Cave is the alternation between narrow crevices and spacious underground halls. In addition, the stream that long ago washed the Bilstein Cave out of the rock is still active today: The Bilsteinbach disappears - depending on the water level completely or partially - in rock crevices at the foot of the Bilstein Rock and emerges again as a spring a few hundred meters below, directly at the visitor parking lot. This underground stream forms a new cave about 20 meters below the feet of today's cave visitors. Thematic guided tours and arrangements are offered in the Bilstein cave and in the Bilsteintal, spectacular is the feeding of the lynxes. Our tip: In September, the Bilsteintal and the cave are bathed in candlelight and firelight on one evening: The "Shining Bilsteintal" is a highlight of the year in the Bilsteintal.
